Tenor Xiaojie Ji, born in China, was a district winner in the 2025 Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition and received Encouragement Awards twice in previous years. He was a Jan Miller Studio Artist with Pensacola Opera for the 2025–2026 season. In 2025, he served as the tenor soloist in Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 at a concert celebrating the 80th anniversary of the United Nations. In 2023, he appeared as a soloist at Carnegie Hall in the Chinese Young Artists Showcase Concert. His operatic repertoire includes Gastone (La Traviata), Don Ramiro (La Cenerentola), Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni), Fenton (Falstaff), Tamino (The Magic Flute), Rodolfo (La Bohème), Basilio (Le nozze di Figaro), Fred (Oklahoma) and others. Ji earned his Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) degree from Michigan State University.
