Virginia Opera Ticket Policies
Tickets are non-refundable – all sales are final. In the event of a cancellation, refunds are not guaranteed.
Single tickets can be exchanged for a minimal fee ($10 per ticket) for another performance of the same production. Please contact the box office at 866.673.7282 for details.
Season subscription tickets will be exchanged (subject to availability) only if received by the box office five days before the performance date of the tickets being returned. Full season subscribers receive free exchanges. 3-show and 2-show flex package exchanges are subject to a $5 per ticket exchange fee.

Lost tickets can be reprinted and held at the box office.
Virginia Opera reserves to right to deny admission to children under the age of five. Patrons of any age must have a ticket to enter the theater.
Your Tax Deductible Ticket Donation
Like all performing arts organizations, we depend on the financial support contributed by our friends for much of our income. Should you be unable to attend a performance for which you are holding tickets, we recommend returning them for a receipt acknowledging your donation of their paid value. Doing this as soon as possible will increase our chances of reselling them. Please mail or deliver unused tickets to our office. If this is not possible, please notify us by phone of your intention to donate the tickets at least 24 hours before the performance. A donation receipt will be mailed to you. Unfortunately, ticket donations cannot be accepted after the performance has begun.

Gift Certificates
Gift certificates can be purchased in any amount on our website or by phone at 866.673.7282. Please note that gift certificates purchase through the Virginia Opera are only valid for opera performances in Norfolk and Richmond.
Demand-Based Pricing
Prices for all performances are subject to change (increase and decrease) based on sales. The prices on the website are adjusted in real time and reflect the most current price for each performance.
Groups of 10 or more
Groups of ten or more patrons attending one mainstage performance are able to take advantage of a tailored group package specific to your needs! Please call the Box Office, at 866.673.7282 or email us at info@vaopera.org.
Privacy Policy
We respect and are committed to protecting your privacy. We may collect personally identifiable information when you visit our site. We may record information on our server logs from your browser including your IP address, cookie information and the page(s) you visited. We will not sell your personally identifiable information to anyone, but it can or may be shared with other opera companies.
