South Korean baritone Taewon Sohn received his Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Michigan School of Music, Theater, and Dance in the spring of 2023, under the tutelage of tenor Stanford Olsen. Taewon is going to start his Doctoral at University of Indiana Bloomington, Jacobs School of Music with Soprano Carol Vaness.
Taewon has recently approved the quarterfinals for 72nd Viotti International competition, and won several competitions in South Korea.
Mr. Sohn made his operatic debut in the role of Pandolfe in Cendrillon with the University of Michigan Opera in 2021 under the baton of Maestro Kirk Severtson and the stage direction of Dr. Abbigail Cote. Recently, Taewon performed in the title role of Don Giovanni under the baton of Maestro Martin Katz and the stage direction of Mo Zhou.
