Dr. Erin Chapman

A scholar of race, Black radicalism, gender, and culture in the 20th-century United States, Dr. Erin D. Chapman holds an AB in History from Stanford University and a PhD in African American Studies and History from Yale University. She works as Associate Professor of History at George Washington University and is the author of Prove It On Me: New Negroes, Sex and Popular Culture in the 1920s and a range of book chapters and articles. Currently, Dr. Chapman is drafting a biography of Lorraine Hansberry under contract with Oxford University Press.
